Publication of the Interim Evaluation of the Federal Adaptation Measures
At the end of 2024, the interim evaluation of the federal adaptation measures ‘Towards a Climate-Resilient Society by 2050 – Federal Adaptation Measures 2023-2026’ (FR/NL) was completed. This evaluation provides a mid-term insight into the progress and potential obstacles in implementing the 28 federal measures.
For this evaluation, all responsible administrations were consulted to discuss the current status and identify any necessary adjustments. The assessment focused on implementation status, execution schedule, budget, and objectives.
The results indicate significant progress across all measures, thanks in part to the flexibility of the administrations in overcoming obstacles and achieving objectives, possibly with adjusted timelines.
The findings of this interim evaluation reinforce confidence in the continued progress of the plan towards the final evaluation in 2026. Monitoring and flexibility remain crucial to address new challenges. The federal government continues to commit to a climate-resilient future, in line with the Paris Agreement, the EU Strategy on Adaptation to Climate Change, and the European Climate Law.
