Landscaping against floods in Hotton
HottonThe municipality of Hotton, in synergy with the Waterways Department of the Province of Luxembourg, has embarked on the complete redevelopment of the Naives basin from the village of Ny to the village of Melreux. To do this, it has entered an innovative European pilot project in the plain of Ny (AMICE Project), whose main objective is the construction of an anti-flood dike across the plain of Ny and the realisation of an 80,000 m³ buffer basin. The project was selected and work began on May 14, 2012. This project can serve as a pilot example for integrated management at the local level and is an opportunity to share experiences between neighbouring municipalities and countries.
